We’re delighted to introduce a range of new features and improvements in the latest iOS app update!

Here’s what’s new:

General Improvements

  • Enhanced Filtering: Easily organize your bookshelf! You can now quickly filter books by tag, category, author, or series directly from the book details screen.
  • Dark & Tinted Icons: Personalize your app appearance with the addition of dark and tinted application icons.
  • Customizable PDF Quality: Adjust the PDF quality directly from system settings, giving you more control over how your content is displayed. You can configure the PDF Render Quality from Fast, Regular & Best (for the highest and sharpest display)
  • New Context Menu for Books: Quickly remove books from your bookshelf or a series with the newly added context menu option.
  • Faster Audio Playback: We’ve increased the limit for audio speed, allowing you to listen at up to 3x speed.
  • Edit Highlight Tags: Now, you can edit or remove tags from highlights on the dedicated highlights screen.
  • Improved Comment Readability: We’ve increased the minimum quote size in the comment screen for better readability and ease of interaction.
  • Sort by File Size: You can now sort books by file size in your bookshelf, making it easier to manage storage.

Bug Fixes & Performance Enhancements

  • Table of Contents Fix: Resolved an issue where the table of contents wasn’t displaying in some EPUB books.
  • Reading Position Restoration: Reading position for PDFs, comics, and fixed-layout EPUBs is now properly restored after returning from the background.
  • PDF Area Highlight Fix: Fixed an issue with creating area highlights on PDF pages without selectable text.
  • Avatar & Username Customization: You can now change your avatar and username directly from the settings.
  • Crash Fixes:
    • Resolved a rare crash when rendering cover pages in PDFs.
    • Fixed a crash in text-to-speech (TTS) for non-English books.

Branch – Discussions Integrations ( Beta)

For users already participating in the Branch/Social beta, we’ve begun the process of integrating these features into the iOS app. Initially, we experimented with a hybrid approach to speed up the integration, but while this method was quicker, it significantly compromised the overall experience. After evaluating the results, we decided to take the native approach instead. Though this takes more time upfront, it provides a much more stable and polished experience, ensuring a smoother user journey and saving time in the long term.

  • Privacy Settings: We prioritize our readers privacy and as a result integrated privacy settings first. You have full control over who can view your highlights, notes, or selected books, allowing you to decide what to share and with whom.
  • Discussion Interactions: Connect with friends, family, or colleagues by creating, editing, or replying to discussions and highlights directly within your books.
  • Discussion Icon: Identify highlights with ongoing discussions at a glance using the newly added discussion icon.
  • Message Actions: Easily manage your conversations by long-pressing on messages to quickly reply, edit, or delete them.

We’re committed to delivering an opt- in (optional) and seamless social reading experience, and these enhancements mark the start of that integration.

We’re continuously working to make your reading experience as enjoyable as possible. You can grab the latest update from the App Store at https://apps.apple.com/us/app/bookfusion/id1141834096 .If you have any feedback or run into any issues, feel free to reach out to our support team.
