Text to Speech (TTS) is now officially supported in the Android app allowing you to leverage the full extent of Text to Speech (TTS) voices and languages. Now turn any eBook into an audiobook by using Text to Speech (TTS).
The following features of TTS have been implemented:
- Backward and Forward control for TTS
- Speed control for TTS
- Play & Pause TTS
- Resume where you left off
- Easily select where to start playing TTS from
Text to Speech (TTS) is supported for English, Spanish, French , German, Portuguese,Mandarin Chinese, Japanese, Hindi, Arabic and 53 other languages. All you need to do to use Text to Speech (TTS) is to go to Settings inside the Reader, select Text to Speech (TTS) , enable it and select your desired voice.
The following improvements for TTS are planned to be included in the next release:
- Play in background
- Show currently playing info
- Controls from the lock screen
In addition to the above, bug fixes and reported issues will also be included in the next release planned for early January. We wanted to get this release out to you before the holiday season!
